A Bhojpuri actor wins as independent in BJP bastion

Bhojpuri actors are regularly trying their popularity in the political field too and are also tasting success now and then. This has happened in the recent civic bodies election held in Uttar Pradesh when a Bhojpuri actor Ashok Seth won as an independent as the councillor from ward no. 16 of Khojwan in Varanasi. This area is known as a BJP bastion but Ashok Seth, an independent, defeated his nearest rival with more than 1300 votes, an achievement in local bodies elections which are very closely contested.

Ashok Seth has worked in many Bhojpuri films like Gayeel Bhainsia Pani Me, and Guru Dakshina, Pyar Karenge Pal Pal etc. and also in tv serials like ‘Kaluadih’ and ‘Banarsi Babu’ on Mahuaa TV. His well wishers and supporters are congratulating Ashok Seth for his win in a BJP bastion.
